Messiah serves at Mother Hubbard’s Cupboard

Mother Hubbard’s Cupboard serves those who are hungry in the Wilmington area by distributing non-perishable emergency food. Volunteers make this service possible, in partnership with the community, without regard to race or religion, and with care to preserve the dignity of the individuals being served.

Messiah will be serving at Mother Hubbard’s Cupboard on Friday, June 29, from 12:30 – 3 PM. Twelve to fifteen members are needed to help check folks in, distribute groceries and help pack special grocery assortments.

Also, this month, in memory of Yvonne Rigby, who headed Messiah’s Friends in Need and was a faithful and devoted Mother Hubbard’s volunteer for many years, Messiah members are encouraged to donate toiletry items to be brought to Mother Hubbard’s when the volunteers go to serve. These items are always needed.
